SummaryIn this demonstration project, three out of four inclined roofs of the library of municipality Haren have been provided with a solar pv system with a combined power of 7.3 kWp. The goal of this project was to contribute to the price reduction of solar power on existing buildings by technology development that may promote further application of solar power on existing buildings. If used on existing buildings, it is not sure whether the bearing construction is capable for a solar pv system. This project shows that, thanks to a simple, innovative construction beneath the bearing construction, an adjustment to the bearing construction does not have to be a financial problem. The project aimed for a price reduction that, eventually, can make the application of solar power on existing buildings compete with solar pv projects for new buildings.
