The photovoltaic solar cells are situated in the most upper part of the structure.
2160 panels with solar cells have been installed in total. Combined, the panels have approximately 205 kWp of power and generate 176,000 kWh of electrical energy yearly.
The panels are AC modules, so each of them has a current inverter. At the start of this project, the AC module was a relatively new product. Because of the size of this project, experience is gained on the influence of many AC modules on the electric grid. Moreover, because of the use of several different kinds of inverters, the performances of these can be compared to each other.
The project is financed by the involved parties (ENW, ECN, TNC and Fraunhofer), Novem and the European Commission. The electricity is used in the province of Noord-Holland. | | Keywords | (PV) non-building-structures |
