SummaryIn the year 1999 a new operations building, the so called "minor┬┤s parlor" was built in the style of the old building. Exclusively domestic, natural materials were used such as wood, stones and flax as insulations material. It will be obvious that in the national park "Hohe Tauern" renewable energy sources were deployed. It was the first time in Europe that a show mine was supplied with electric energy from a PV-power plant. The PV-system was integrated in the roof with frameless modules. It was achieved as an on-grid system in combination with the nearby small hydro power plant Neukirchen.
