SummaryThe "Casa da Enerxía" (Energy House) aims to be a representative building of the current state-of-the-art of renewable energy sources, in which two examples of solar energy use are shown: solar thermal and photovoltaics. It was designed as a series of cubic spaces following a winding line. In the building south façade, there are 5 sections with different orientations: the lateral ones are used for an Uninterruptible Power Supply system, whereas the 3 central ones integrate photovoltaic modules that are connected to the grid. Besides, there are solar thermal collectors on the building's flat roof, which are use to provide energy for heating purposes and a small absorption device.
