SummaryThe goal of the project is to express the perspective of the national government about the use of renewable energy and to demonstrate the esthetic and technical possibilities of solar cells locally. The expansion of the city hall consists of a glass ‘climate skin’. The original building is concealed and protected by this new layer. Furthermore the skin functions as a solar power plant and source of energy for the community of Dongen. The solar power plant forms the roof of the new hall.
